Thornhill woman charged in Lakeshore crash

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Thornhill woman after a crash Saturday on Myers Road in Lakeshore.

Police tried unsuccessfully to stop a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the Belle River area just 15 minutes before the crash.

Just before 11 p.m., the same vehicle left the road, hit a guardrail, and went into a ditch near South Middle Road.

The driver was not hurt.

A 40-year-old woman is charged with careless driving and failing to stop.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
