Leamington resident charged in overnight stabbing

A 34-year-old has been arrested in connection with an early morning stabbing.

The Ontario Provincial Police said it happened shortly after midnight on Wednesday on Satinwood Crescent in Leamington. OPP officers and paramedics responded to find a 21-year-old with a stab wound. The victim was rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Few details have been released, but a suspect, who is from Leamington, is in custody.

The investigation is ongoing. The Essex County OPP Crime Unit is looking for help from the public in this matter. Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
