Erie Shores Healthcare looking for new CEO

After three years at the helm of Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington, CEO Janice Dawson is leaving to "pursue other professional interests."

The hospital said it had launched an independent search for a new CEO.

In the meantime, the hospital's Chief of Staff, Dr. Ross Moncur, will serve as the interim CEO.

Hospital board chair, Jeff Lewis announced Dawson's departure Tuesday morning.

"Our board and community are tremendously grateful to Janice for her hard work and leadership over the last three years," he said in a release from Erie Shores Healthcare.

Under Dawson's leadership, the hospital has played an integral role in managing the COVID-19 pandemic and now ranks as one of Ontario's top five hospitals for short emergency wait times. The facility's catchment area has also grown, along with the number of patients served.
