Police investigating Amherstburg arson

The Windsor police Amherstburg Detachment is investigating an arson at a business on Sandwich Street.

Around 11:50 p.m. Sunday, emergency crews were called to the business on Sandwich between Gore Street and Simcoe Street.

The fire was extinguished. No one was inside the business at the time of the fire.

Police determined the fire was deliberately set and deemed the area a crime scene. Two suspicious people were seen in the area at the time of the fire. Police believe they took off in a vehicle.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
