Community wide food drive in the works

A local community group is organizing a Windsor-Essex wide food drive at the end of the month.

On June 27 the group is asking all residents to put non-perishable food items on their doorstep by noon.

Volunteers will travel across the city and the county to pick up the donations. Within the city, volunteers will come to the door and drop-off locations will be available for those living in rural areas.

“We are so proud to be part of a community that is there when the call for help is sent out. Now more than ever is a time for all of us to come together in unity to help our neighbours, friends and family, “ said Steve Truant, also on the Organizing Committee, June 27th Miracle. “We will need as many volunteers as possible so please continue to spread the word about the June 27th Miracle, and please keep volunteering!”

All donations will be given to food banks and organizations across the community.

Over 1000 volunteers have already signed up for the June 27th Miracle but the organizing committee is still looking for people to help collect the food.
