Random testing in Windsor-Essex has resulted in very few positive cases.
Of the nearly 4,500 people tested throughout Windsor and Essex County, only four test results have been positive.
"I think that's a good sign because it means that truly we don't have many active cases in the community who are spreading it. So the key message still is, if we continue to maintain and do everything that we are doing, we will be able to get rid of all these cases and the spread in the community," said Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health for Windsor Essex.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit is holding one more day of drive-thru tests in Lakeshore Friday at the Atlas Tube Centre.
The most recent data from the health unit shows that 70 per cent of all positive cases in the region within the last 30 days originated in Leamington. Around 25 per cent of overall cases are among farmworkers in the region.
The majority of recent cases can be linked to close contact. The number of community spread cases continues to decline.
On Friday, the health unit reported an additional 13 positive cases. Eight are farmworkers and five are still under investigation.
