Man facing charges after officer witnesses drug deal

A Windsor man is facing drug charges after a bike patrol officer witnessed a drug deal.

A Windsor police City Centre patrol officer was in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Glengarry when a man sitting on a bench approached by another person.

The officer saw what appeared to be drugs in possession of the man on the bench and witnessed what appeared to be an illegal drug transaction.

As the officer approached the two individuals the man took off before accepting the suspected drugs. The man on the bench was arrested without incident.

Officers found what they believe to be methamphetamine inside the bag. They also found a prohibited weapon and other drug paraphernalia.

Senan Fathy, 40, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of probation. None of the charges have been proven in court.
