Crash causes porch collapse at Leamington home

A 60-year-old Leamington driver faces charges after a vehicle struck a fire hydrant causing a big mess on Erie Street North.

The Ontario Provincial Police say the road started to flood around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after the crash.

Shortly after, the front porch of a home and the sidewalk collapsed.

That forced officials to close that stretch of Erie Street North. It has since reopened.

The driver faces a charge of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
