Torch starts accidental house fire

Damage is estimated at $70,000 after an accidental fire sparked at a house on Tourangeau Road.

Windsor fire officials said crews were called to a house fire at 1900 block of Tourangeau on Sunday afternoon. Flames could be seen on the second floor, however, fire crews were quick to control and extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is deemed accidental. Officials said it was caused by a torch during some flat roof work.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
