Minor collision leads to impaired driving charges

A Windsor woman is facing impaired driving charges after a minor collision in East Windsor Thursday morning.

Police were called to the crash on Wyandotte Street near St. Mary's Boulevard around 10:30 am. Witnesses reported that a white Chevrolet Cruz pulled out from a driveway into the path of a Grey Ford Focus.

No injuries were reported and neither car was seriously damaged. Police were called because the driver of the Cruz was showing signs of impairment.

The 57-year-old woman was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving. The charges have not been proven in court.

The Windsor Police Service is reminding the public that impaired driving by alcohol or drugs is a serious offence and puts the entire community at risk.
