Windsor friends win lottery

"It's hard to believe," exclaimed Andrew Hargot after winning $100,000 playing instant tickets with his friend, Riley Osier.

The two 18-year-old men just recently started playing the lottery and purchased the winning ticket on Hargot's 18th birthday.

"I can't think of a better birthday present than $50,000," Hargot continued while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The two friends bought the INSTANT SILVER STACKS ticket at A & A Tecumseh Convenience on Lesperance Road in Tecumseh. They uncovered their ticket and discovered their win while sitting in the car afterward.

"We thought we had won $100, and we started cheering. Then we uncovered the other three zeros, and we went silent and stared at each other," laughed Hargot.

When the two went back to his home to tell his family, "my mom almost passed out, she was so excited," he said. "My sister was jealous and my brother was confused because of all the times I have messed with him."

Hargot works in construction and Osier works in retail.

Hargot said he plans to sell his car and upgrade to something new. Osier figures he will invest his portion of the winnings.
