A $100,002 windfall for a Belle River man

A Lakeshore man put down an additional loonie and came away with a big prize.

Mark Hillman paid an additional $1 for the Encore feature in the June 23 Lotto MAX draw. Hillman matched the last six of the seven numbers drawn, in order, to win the top prize of $100,000.

Hillman's cheque from the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, which he picked up this week, had an additional $2 on it. He also won $2 for another selection on the same draw plus a Free Play, raising his total to $100,002.

The winning ticket was purchased at MNM Variety on Front Street in Windsor, according to OLG.

Encore is a feature that can be played with most of the OLG's lottery games for an extra $1.
