More hot and humid weather for Essex County

Following a week of cooler temperatures, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Essex County.

Hot and humid conditions are expected for the Windsor area beginning Sunday, continuing until at least Tuesday night.

Daytime temperatures are predicted to be near 31 C with humidex values of up to 40 C. Overnight temperatures will provide little relief from the heat with lows around 21 C.

Those who are vulnerable to heat-related illnesses are reminded to monitor themselves for symptoms such as swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heatstroke and the worsening of other health conditions.

The weather agency is advising people to drink plenty of water before feeling thirsty and to stay in a cool place.
