City seeks input on next phases of Cabana Road improvements

The City of Windsor is getting ready to break ground on phase three and four of improvements on Cabana Road, but first, they want feedback from the public.

The latest improvements to handle an increase in traffic anticipated once the new acute care hospital opens are between Dougall Avenue and Highway 3.

The hospital is still in the planning process.

The improvements include wider roads, bike lanes, and better lighting.

Usually, the city holds a public meeting, but the pandemic has made that impossible, so it has posted an online video presentation and a survey.

The survey will close on September 4.

The corridor layout design, construction schedule, and proposed road closures are featured on the project webpage.

Phase one of the improvements was from west of Provincial Road to Howard Avenue. That work finished in November 2017. Phase two, from Howard Avenue to Dougall Avenue, is currently underway.
