Windsor fire department investigating Tuesday morning blaze

Windsor fire investigators have determined that improper disposal of smoking material caused a fire on Parent Avenue Tuesday morning.

Fire crews responded to the blaze on Parent between Ottawa Street and Ellis Street at around 8 a.m. Windsor fire officials said six residents living in the home got out safely.

The fire started on the back porch of the upper unit. It caused around $35,000 in damage.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
