Advance polling starts in Windsor's Ward 7

Starting Tuesday, residents in Windsor's Ward 7 can vote for their new city councillor.

Advance polling is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the WFCU Centre on McHugh Street.

The actual byelection is on Monday.

A total of 12 candidates are running to replace Irek Kusmierczyk, who was elected the Member of Parliament for Windsor-Tecumseh in last fall's federal election.

The candidates are Igor Dzaic, Farah El-Hajj, Michelle Gajewski, Jeewan Gill, Barbara Holland, Ernie Lamont, Greg Lemay, Michael Mallot, Angelo Marignani, Therese Papineau, Albert Saba, and Howard Weeks.

The vote was going to be held in April, but the city was forced to postpone it because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
