High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

One person is in hospital after a single-vehicle crash that sent a vehicle flying through the air and rolling onto its roof in LaSalle.
The LaSalle Police Service said on Tuesday shortly before 5:30 a.m., the vehicle was travelling north on Front Road struck a curb at Malden Road and left the road. The vehicle hit an inclined dirt berm causing it to become airborne before it landed on another dirt pile and rolled onto its roof.
The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was rushed to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
The collision remains under investigation and police said no further information is being released at this time.
