Police lay arson charges

A Windsor man is facing arson charges after a house fire on Tournier Street Thursday.

The fire broke out just before 9 p.m. in the two-unit dwelling.

Windsor police say several occupants got out safely and no injuries were reported.

Through an investigation, police determined the fire may have been intentionally set by one of the residents. A suspect was arrested and charged around 9:45 p.m.

Ronald Morgan, 48, is charged with arson with disregard for human life. The charge has not been proven in court.

A damage estimate has not been determined.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
