Six new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported six new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Tuesday.

Among the new cases are three close contacts, one community case and one agri-farm worker. One case remains under investigation.

There are no outbreaks to report at any long-term care facility, workplace, or school.

Since March, there have been 2,680 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region. There are now 37 active cases in the community.  Two people are being treated in hospital for symptoms of COVID-19.

Testing for COVID-19 can be done by appointment only at three local assessment centres, Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus, the St. Clair Sportsplex, and Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington.

Ontario is reporting 548 new cases of COVID19 out of over 42,000 tests completed.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
