UWindsor convocations go digital

For the first time, the University of Windsor will be hosting online convocation ceremonies this week.

When the pandemic hit in the spring convocation was cancelled for many students.  Now nearly 4,800 students will take part in the online ceremonies from October 14-17.

“This year, as a result of COVID-19, our celebratory approach had to turn to cyberspace,” said Registrar Alice Miller. “Our goal has been to update our long-standing traditions in a way that ensures the safety of our honoured grads and their families and guests.”

Eligible graduates each received an emailed invitation to create a personalized slide that will be shown when their name is read during one of the 13 sessions that will be live-streamed Wednesday through Saturday.

Online ceremonies can be found here.
