OPP officer facing impaired driving charges

An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police in Lakeshore is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash in Lakeshore on Sunday.

The OPP were called to the site of the crash at the intersection of County Road 22 and West Pike Creek around 1 a.m. Sunday. Officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and the Windsor Police Service was called to do a breath test.

Steven Heredi, 40, of Lakeshore, is charged with the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams or more. The charge has not been proven in court.

The accused is a 12-year member of the service. He was not on duty at the time of the crash.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
