UPDATE: Two bargaining units ratify deals with public school board

The Greater Essex County District School Board has announced that two tentative deals have been ratified by units represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.

The agreements were reached Thursday, with the ratification vote held Friday morning.

The first is for educational support staff, some of whom work at elementary schools.

The OSSTF represents about 900 permanent and temporary workers in a variety of job classifications, including office staff.

The second is for about 850 teachers in public high schools.

Both deals still need to be ratified by the board trustees.
