Illegal firearm seized by Windsor police

Windsor police have charged a man after seizing an illegal firearm.

After an investigation, police searched a home in Windsor on Sunday and seized a handgun.

Police later identified a suspect who had allegedly been illegally in possession of the seized firearm.

The Windsor Police Service and the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad located and arrested the suspect in Chatham-Kent later Sunday evening.

Zoltan Zoldi, 27, with no fixed address, is charged with possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing a firearm while prohibited, and being unlawfully at large.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
