COVID-19 case identified at St. Anne French Immersion

A student at St. Anne French Immersion Catholic Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.

Under the direction of the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. 31 students were sent home after the case was identified. Twenty-four students were from one class and an additional seven students were from a busing cohort.

Letters have been sent home with all other students to notify parents of the case. Anyone who has not been contacted by the health unit has not been identified as a close contact and their child can continue to attend school as usual.

Nurses from the health unit were on-site Thursday afternoon to answer parent's questions as they were picking up their child from the dismissed cohort.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
