WECHU reports six new COVID-19 cases

There were six new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the Windsor-Essex region on Thursday.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported three of the new cases are community-acquired and one is travel related. Two cases are still under investigation.

There are 45 active cases in the community.

There is only one outbreak at a food and beverage establishment in Kingsville. There are no outbreaks to report at any long-term care facility, retirement home, or school.

Ontario reported 934 new cases out of 35,600 tests completed. There were 420 new cases in Toronto, 169 in Peel, 95 in York Region, and 58 in Ottawa.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
