UPDATE: Windsor Fire responds to apartment fire on Little River Road

The Windsor Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Little River Road on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews received the call just before 1:30 p.m. regarding a third-floor apartment fire affecting multiple units within a three-storey walk up on Little River Road between Marjorie Drive and Little River Acres. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and fire conditions, causing police to close off the road from Little River Acres Drive to Marjorie Drive while crews battled the fire.

Officials reported no injuries, though upwards of 100 tenants have been displaced as a result of the fire. The Office of the Fire Marshal will begin an official investigation Sunday morning.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
