No confirmed flu cases in Windsor-Essex

The first reported case of influenza in Windsor-Essex was a false positive.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit said it has confirmed with the lab that the individual is not positive for the influenza virus. There are no confirmed cases of the flu in the region.

The outbreak at the long-term care facility where this person lived has been rescinded.

To date, the health unit has distributed over 60,000 doses of the flu vaccine to health care providers throughout the region.

Over 100 pharmacies are also providing flu vaccines and have administered over 27,000 vaccines to date.
