Essex opens first legal recreational cannabis store

Essex now has it's very own retail cannabis store, Tony's Joint officially opened up for business on Saturday.

The store celebrated its debut with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by remarks by the business owners and elected officials including Mayor Larry Snively. “Tony’s Joint is a great example of the potential for investments in our community from the new and expanding legal cannabis sector,” said Mayor Snively.

Tony's Joint is the first legal marijuana retail store to open in Essex County and will offer a range of products from smokeable dried herb, to cannabis infused edibles. Anthony Cervini, the store owner, said he saw great potential in opening a pot store in Essex. “We were drawn to the idea of being in the hub of the county and we hope to bring more visitors and customers to help the town prosper.”

The store will operate under regulations laid out by the Cannabis Licence Act and related legislation. Customers over the age of 19 are welcomed to the store to purchase products.
