Mystery tote identified

The Ontario Provincial Police were able to return some stolen property to its rightful owner with the help of social media.

Last week, Essex County OPP found a stolen plastic tote and posted it online to help find its owner.

Carol Briese saw the story in the media and immediately recognized the tote as one stolen from her Windsor home. It contained a portion of her large costume jewellery collection, the majority of which once belonged to her mother.

Briese attended the OPP detachment in Lakeshore on Wednesday to retrieve the tote.
