Town of Essex hosting holiday decorating competition

The Town of Essex is helping residents get in the holiday spirit with a little friendly competition.

The Arts, Culture & Tourism Committee is hosting the Candy Cane Lane Christmas Light and Decorating Contest.

Residents can submit their home address or a range of addresses in their neighbourhood to be considered for judging. A prize will be given out for an individual home and for a group of homes competing in the competition. Submissions will be accepted until December 2.

Residents have the chance to win over $1,700 in Essex Centre Winter Downtown Dollars, sponsored by the Essex Centre BIA.

The Town of Essex will publish a map of participating houses so residents and visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour.

The town is also hosting Jingle Ring with Santa. An online event for families to interact with Santa and his elves.

Find information about all Town of Essex holiday events on the town's website.
