UWindsor COVID-19 case unrelated to outbreak

There has been another case of COVID-19 linked to the University of Windsor.

The case is unrelated to an outbreak at the student residence.

The person who tested positive is now self-isolating and the university has completed additional cleaning on campus.

The health unit has not identified any further risks at the university. Anyone who is identified as a high-risk close contact will be contacted by the health unit.

Officials are reminding students, faculty, and staff to continue to complete self-assessments before going to campus, wear a mask, and keep a distance from others whenever possible.

An outbreak was declared at the student residence on November 10 after five students who attended a Halloween party at the residence tested positive for COVID-19. To date, no other cases have been linked to the outbreak.
