Windsor police looking into shots-fired incident

The public is being asked to provide information on an incident in which shots were fired early Sunday morning.

Windsor police say it happened shortly before 3 a.m., on Reginald Street off Ford Boulevard. Officers responded to a complaint about gunshots in the area.

Investigators believed a fight took place in the area where several people were present, and the shots were heard close to that time, according to Constable Talya Natyshak.

Officers searched the area and found several spent shell casings. The Forensic Identification Unit was then called in to process the scene.

There have been no reports of injuries from this incident, and the weapon has not been recovered.

The Major Crimes Branch is still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
