COVID-19 case reported at St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School

A single case of COVID-19 has been identified at St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School in Windsor.

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board was notified of the case by the health unit on Thursday.

According to a release sent out by the school board, voice messages have been sent out to the school community reassuring families that they will only be contacted by health officials if they are identified as close contacts of the infected individual.

The Greater Essex County District School Board also reported a new case of COVID-19 at Riverside High School.

No cohorts will be dismissed as schools are attending classes virtually.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
