Weekend commercial fire causes $500K in damage

The cause of a weekend fire at a Windsor business remains undetermined.

Windsor Fire and Rescue says it happened early Sunday morning on Cantelon Drive off Kew Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene around 2 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames at the business.

Crews used a ladder truck to fight the flames from the air and the blaze took several hours to put out.

There were no reports of injuries, but investigators placed the damage estimate at around $500,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
