Two arrested after theft of catalytic converter

The Ontario Provincial Police credit a good surveillance system for the fast arrest of two alleged thieves in Leamington.

Police were called to a home on Seneca Drive after two people were caught on camera taking a catalytic converter out of a parked vehicle.

The image was clear enough the officers got a good description of both suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

Two men from Kingsville now face a charge of possession of stolen property.

The charges against 56-year-old Allard Maagdeleijin and 36-year-old Mark Grieve have not been proven in court.

They will get their day before a judge at the Leamington Ontario Court of Justice in February.
