Windsor police probe suspicious Christmas Eve death

Investigators are looking into an incident during which a woman was found dead in a Windsor home.

Windsor police say officers were called at around 8 a.m. Friday to a house on Campbell Avenue near Grove Avenue. When they arrived, they found a woman deceased.

According to Constable Talya Natyshak, the original circumstances of the death were not known, and the Major Crimes Branch was brought in to investigate.

"The residence was treated as a crime scene until further information could be obtained and the Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene," said Natyshak. "A thorough investigation is being conducted and investigators are awaiting test results in order to rule out foul play."

The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate, and police would like to thank the public for its patience during the course of the probe.
