Man charged in fatal collision

The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man in relation to a fatal collision that occurred in early December.

It happened on December 12, on County Road 46 east of County Road 19, Lakeshore.  The collision sent three people to the hospital. A passenger of one of the vehicles, 30-year-old Cassandra Rideout from Lakeshore, died from her injuries.

Police had to shut down a stretch of County Road 46 east of Manning Road for several hours to investigate the collision.

A 31-year-old man, also from Lakeshore, faces two charges in connection to the crash, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

The charges against Jonathan Grellette have not been proven in court.

Grellette will appear in the Windsor Ontario Court of Justice on January 27.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
