OPP investigation leads to arrest on Pelee Island

The Essex County Emergency Response Team and K-9 unit were utilized to arrest one person on Pelee Island.

Police received a complaint on Thursday from a resident who was threatened, they were also notified of vehicles on the island allegedly being set on fire.

On Friday, the OPP reported Aviation Services used a helicopter to send officers and a police dog to Pelee Island, where they took one person into custody without incident.

Forensic Identification Services and the Major Crime Unit have conducted an additional investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
