UPDATE: Essex OPP identify injured cyclist

Essex County provincial police confirmed they have identified an injured cyclist.

Officers say they received a call around 2 p.m. Saturday, regarding an elderly man who suffered a medical emergency on Hanlon Street in Essex. He was forced to leave his bicycle behind when paramedics took him the hospital.

Police later reported they were able to establish the man's identity, and are thanking the public for their assistance.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
