Police investigate shots fired on Central Avenue

Windsor police are investigating after shots were fired in central Windsor over the weekend.

Around 1:45 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to Central Avenue near Ontario Street for a report of property that was believed to be damaged from shots being fired.

Through investigation, it was reported that at around 4:30 am that same day, multiple loud bangs were heard in the area. A resident later located damage to both a vehicle and residence in the area.

The Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene. During a search, multiple shell casings were located in the area.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

According to police, a white, older model sedan, was observed in the area at the time of the incident and is considered a vehicle of interest.

The Major Crime Branch is actively investigating and seeking any information in relation to the incident. Anyone with surveillance cameras in the area is being asked to check the footage for possible evidence. Any suspicious persons or vehicles captured on surveillance footage, prior to or after the incident, is requested to be reported.
