Three men facing charges after vehicle stop

Three men are facing a number of weapon and drug-related charges after Windsor police stopped a vehicle in the area of Elliott Street East and Marentette Avenue Friday afternoon.

Officers discovered the license plate attached to the vehicle was stolen. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Officers then seized some illicit drugs and prohibited weapons.

Marc Mireault, 40, of Amherstburg  is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun baton), failing to comply with a release order, failing to comply with a weapons prohibition, and possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis marihuana.

Gary Bravo, 51, of Windsor is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun baton and brass knuckles), possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine), possession for the purpose of distributing (cannabis), and failing to comply with a release order.

Michael Rainone, 57, of Windsor is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun baton), and possession for the purpose of distributing (cannabis).

The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
