GoFundMe set up by friend of young woman killed in Fort Erie

The best friend of a young Windsor-Essex woman who was fatally shot has created a fundraiser to help cover the costs of her sudden funeral.

On Tuesday, 20-year-old Juliana Pannunzio was one of the two victims killed during a shooting at a residence in Fort Erie.

Kelly Gallacher, in charge of the GoFundMe on behalf of the family of Pannunzio, described her friend as someone who "never failed to make me laugh," and said she always full of joy.

"Juliana was a sweet angel and a kind soul. She loved everyone and she always wanted everyone to be happy," Gallacher said on the fundraiser's page.

In just over a day, donations have already surpassed the $3,000 goal.

Pannunzio was staying at a short-term rental with a group of people in the town south of Niagara Falls when the shooting happened.

No arrests have been made and Niagara police continue to investigate the incident.
