UPDATE: Drouillard Road fire under control

Fire crews spent hours trying to extinguish a fire on Drouillard Road.

Around 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Windsor Fire tweeted that they were on the scene of an active fire at a multi-unit building in the 1100 block of Drouillard Rd. Residents were evacuated as crews began working to extinguish the blaze from the inside.

About a half an hour later, Windsor Fire tweeted again that they were now attacking the fire from the outside.

"Fire through the roof," read the tweet. Witness video showed fire erupting from the roof of the building as crews worked to contain it.

Around 8:00 p.m., Windsor Fire tweeted that crews had the blaze under control.

Windsor Fire had previously asked people to avoid the area. Drouillard Road remains closed to traffic from Whelpton to Ontario.

Officials have not provided any further information at this time.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
