Windsor resumes after-school programs

With in-person classes resuming Monday, the city of Windsor has again provided an option for working parents.

The city has resumed after-school programs at four facilities, which will be open weekday afternoons except for school PA days, holidays, and March Break.

The after-school programs will be available at the following locations.

  • Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex, 1551 Wyandotte Street West, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex, 2555 Pulford Street, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Gino and Liz Marcus Community Complex, 1168 Drouillard Road, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Windsor Water World, 400 Wyandotte Street East, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Elementary and secondary school students currently enrolled in class are eligible, expect at Marcus where the program is for elementary students only.

COVID-19 safety procedures will be in effect at each facility to keep staff and students safe. Healthy pre-packaged snacks are provided, along with homework help and opportunities for physical activity.

Parents are asked to directly contact the facility of their choice for information.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
