Arrest made in theft investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police says a tip from an alert citizen helped officers make an arrest in Kingsville last week.

Around 8:25 p.m. Thursday, OPP officers were called to Hillview Crescent for reports of a suspicious person and vehicle in the area.

Police investigated and later located the vehicle on Division Street. Officers followed footprints in the snow and found a suspect. Police say they found tools and catalytic converters that had been removed from two vehicles on the suspect.

A 36-year-old man is charged with two counts of theft under $5,000. The charges have not been proven in court.

The OPP is encouraging residents to report all suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood.
