Man charged in fatal fire

A Windsor man is facing charges in connection to a fire on Church Street that killed two people.

On February 7, a man and a woman were pulled from the blaze with life-threatening injuries.

Windsor police reported the 59-year-old man passed away on February 8. The 54-year-old woman passed away on February 10.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office and the Windsor Police Major Crime Unit investigated the fire, which caused $225,000 in damage.

Police identified a suspect and an arrest was made Friday in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Langlois Avenue.

Lowell Campbell, 50, is charged with arson with disregard for human life, two counts of criminal negligence causing death, and failing to comply with an undertaking. The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
