Strong strike mandate for Unifor Local 444 from "Feeder Four"

Workers at four auto parts plants that supply the Windsor Assembly Plant have voted to give their bargaining committee a very strong strike mandate.

Unifor Local 444 is currently in talks with ZF/TRW. An agreement with that company will set the pace for negotiations with the other three, Avancez, Dakkota, and HBPO.

Members at all four plants backed their bargaining team by a margin of 99 per cent in a vote held Tuesday.

Unifor Local 444 posted the results on its Facebook page.

The union has said it would like to have a deal with ZF/TRW by Monday.

A strike by those workers could mean a work stoppage at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
