Police probe gun shots in west Windsor

Windsor police are asking for help as they investigate an early-morning shooting.

It happened at around 12:15 a.m Friday on Bloomfield Road near Chippawa Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they were told that multiple gunshots were heard in the area.

Police learned that a dark-coloured sedan was seen leaving the area on South Street and headed toward Sandwich Street. A second dark-coloured vehicle was last seen on Bloomfield and headed toward Prince Road. Both of these are considered vehicles of interest.

Constable Talya Natyshak said a white male, wearing black pants and a red sweatshirt, was seen running from the area, possibly with a firearm.

The Forensic Identification Unit processed the scene, and several spent shell casings were found. There have been no reports of injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit is leading the ongoing investigation and is asking anyone in the neighbourhood with surveillance camera footage to give it a look and contact them if they notice anything unusual.
