Louis Ave. fire leaves three people displaced

Fire crews in Windsor quickly got a blaze at a duplex on Louis Avenue under control Saturday.

Crews arrived on the scene of a fire at a home in the 1100 block of Louis Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Chief Fire Prevention Officer John Lee said on Twitter that crews had the fire under control shortly after arriving. Crews managed to get the fire out completely before 4 p.m.

An investigation later found that the fire started on the second floor in the upper unit of the duplex. The cause remains undetermined.

The fire left three people displaced, though no injuries were reported. Damage is estimated around $30,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
