Two charged in Essex stabbing

Two people are in custody after a man was injured Monday afternoon on a pathway in Essex.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded at around 2:15 p.m. to a report of an assault on a paved pathway between Highway 3 and Thomas Street. Police say an altercation took place at that location, and a 29-year-old Essex man was stabbed. The victim was treated in hospital.

Officers arrested the pair of suspects a short time later. The identities of the 27-year-old and 32-year-old from Lakeshore have not been released.

Police stress there is no concern for public safety, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
